Coventry City Ride

About us

At eZo Cycle, cycling is more than just a passion – it’s a way to support a healthier, greener world. We see cycling as a sustainable way to travel, commute and stay fit. That’s why we’re committed to eco-friendly practices wherever possible, doing our bit to protect the environment and secure a better future.

We keep things simple and embrace the ethos of reduce, reuse and recycle in everything we do. And at the heart of it all, we’re dedicated to bringing fun and joy of cycling to our community.

The story so far

From Childhood Adventures to Cycling Passion

Cycling has been more than just a way to get from A to B for Kwok, founder of eZo Cycle. From early teenage adventures to new journeys, bike has been a constant, fueling a love of exploration, resilience and discovery along the way.

For many kids growing up in 80s Coventry, cycling was all about freedom – the wind in your face, the open road and endless possibilities. Kwok was one of the lucky ones who discovered this sense of adventure and independence at a young age.

Becoming
eZo Cycle

In 2013, Kwok left his corporate job to launch eZo Cycle – starting as a mobile mechanic with a simple goal, which is to bring reliable and friendly bike service to the local community in Coventry and Warwickshire. With dedication to quality and care, eZo Cycle has steadily grown into a trusted name in the area.

The Goal was to create a business with little or no capital, almost as a proof of concept and as it grows, profits are pushed back in to expand and grow more. For example, tool investment has grown massively over the last 10 years. Researching into new cycling innovation has also grown, often we test new products before we offer to customers. Setting up cycle clinics around the broader Coventry area to gain exposure has all lead to increased clientele.

Since starting eZo Cycle, the industry has changed quite a lot with more and more traditional bike shops closing, increased in online retail and pandemic over demand, it was important for a small business like ours not to fall into those traps. We had to stay open to opportunities and not grow for the sake of growth. Staying as a workshop only is still useful to keep prices low and reasonable for clients.

Over the years, eZo Cycle has got into more cycle advocacy activities, some for charities, others just to offer good alternatives to car travel. Such as Cycling UK DrBike sessions for Birmingham Ladywood community, involvement with Civic Square repair club, Kidical Mass Coventry, Big Ride for Palestine and our monthly local Gravel Club rides. But also helping individual to empower their riding, whether from getting into commuting, bike packing, adventure rides, Triathlons, Cyclocross racing and more.

Across all this servicing and repairs are the main activities for eZo Cycle, so getting involved with cycling journalists from Escape Collective and GCN and even some cycle industry start ups, we try hard to learn new things to do with Cycling and discover best practices along the way.
