This is an opportunity for eZo cycle to highlight some of the plans for 2016. After a year of 2015, where I found the courage to really start becoming a bike builder and mechanic, 2016 will see eZo cycle get more into the community, more into builds with Re-imagined bikes, more into online sales, rebuild the workshop and possibly more riding.
This adventure, is slowly gaining momentum. My initial idea to start a business with little or no capital investment has taken me on a fantastic journey. For sure we can always do more to gain more, but I have seen many businesses go on a rampage to start and grow, but may have lost some of that initial enthusiasm or desire along the way to success. Only to end up very unenthused about their creation.
The eZo cycle adventure is really to show people that cycling is not intimidating, certainly not all about macho riding. Sure we all like to look as good as we can on or off our bike. Hence a sense of style is important, however we mustn’t forget about the function.
Clothes are worn for a purpose and that isn’t always primarily style. How cycle apparel function is very important when we ride, modern materials these days can help us to stay warm, cool, dry and comfortable. eZo cycle hopes to introduce more people/cyclist into getting good clothing that functions very well on our rides, with new lines, safety and style features.
Bikes will become more important for eZo cycle in 2016, plans are in place to build more and more Re-imagined bikes to offer something a little different to how brands originally built their bike offerings. We want to provide a bespoke build service within this genre of build, allowing the client to discuss with us on how they want to upgrade their current bike, or build a bit of a dream bike with a lower budget to the super bikes that are out there.
On the mechanics front, we will continue to offer and provide excellent service to the local area of Coventry, UK. I really enjoy and love to help people with their cycling problems, whether it is just a simple retune, complete clean or simply they don’t have time to maintain their bikes. We are hoping to work with some schools on maintaining their fleet of bikes that are used to help kids to learn to ride in a safe and responsible manner. Fingers crossed that what we can offer fits with schools’ ever decreasing budgets.
Blogs will continue and we hope to write more honest and interesting posts to either inform or entertain you all. At the moment I am still not so comfortable with videos, but maybe I can learn as the year moves forward. I enjoy photography more, and hopefully will be adding more of my style to product photos. Let us know what you think of them as they appear in the not too distant future.
Our workshop is being revamped already, trying to make it look more and more professional, whatever that means. But certainly the functional thought is definitely there. Looking forward to finalise the layout and make the best use of my garage/workshop.
We are planning to work more and more with schools on their fleet of bikes. Would also like to offer our services to business parks too, to encourage or reinforce the notion of cycle to work, to help staff with their cycle needs, so they can really rely on their bikes rather than just on the occasional days.
Most of all
Well to round of the plans, of course we would encourage more people to make use of their bikes, whether it be commuting, leisure rides, racing, shopping, fitness, any type of riding really. We should just do more rides.
For sure, riding on the road can be dangerous, but we can overcome many of these dangers by being more responsible with the way to ride, our approach to traffic behaviour and a sense of tolerance towards other traffic and pedestrians.
I truly believe we can all coexist, not one dominate the other, but really to be all part of traffic in a safe and manageable manner.
These are just some of the plans we have here at eZo cycle. Planning to do more, but to also enjoy the journey and not see it as a race all the time. Much like my cycling in many ways
Happy riding in 2016!!
