Many people are buying their bikes via the internet. When the box arrives, it may seem very daunting to open the box and find the bike not fully assembled. This is not so surprising when you consider that delivery is expensive, so to reduce cost most manufacturers and retailers will try to reduce the size of the packaging as much as they can.
The result is that the bike can arrive in several pieces with lots of internal packaging to help protect the frame and wheels. It is not always so obvious or easy to reassemble the bike as it can require specialist tooling to achieve the reassembly. Also some setup is usually required for the headset, gear system and brake system to ensure they all work according to manufacturer’s warranty and to British Standards.
We at eZo Cycle can help you with a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI). With our PDI we will follow a set procedure to ensure the reassembled bicycle will conform to British Standards (EN ISO 4210-2 and 8098), meaning your bike (adult or child) will be safe to ride on British roads.
Our checklist is comprehensive and will include all areas of a bicycle during reassembly. Any protrusions and sharp edges will be removed or smoothed to safe guard the rider.
Each PDI is performed by a qualified Cytech mechanic using the checklist and signed off by the mechanic before the bike is handed over to the customer.
