Day 3, back to Coundon area. Relatively close to sorting office and also close to home. Today the weather is getting colder than previous days and definitely more frost on the ground. However it was to my luck that most of it was melting as I headed out from my office.
My Continental gatorskins have been doing a fine job of gripping on corners and allowing me to control my braking in a responsible way. Meaning no heroics and they were absolutely within margin for control.
I used 5 layers today for my body, synthetic T-shirt to help wick moisture off my body, then a Helly Hansen baselayer with a mix of Merino and synthetic fibres, which gave warmth, moisture wicking and odour control. After that I out on my Bergson running long sleeve jersey and then on top the YJD T-shirt, to represent.
Over all of this I put on my trusty Altura 360 rain jacket. Waterproof and windproof, perfect for changeable weather.
Legwear was covered by Endura urban trousers with some thermal underwear. Not glamorous, but functional and warm, no one sees it anyway.
Head, I use a Pearl Izumi head cap that covers your ears and head wrapped and warm. My MET helmet does the protecting part.
With all this there is little wonder I was warm for the near freezing temperatures of British winter.
Today’s riding was uneventful and boring, but safe and I got all the post done fairly quickly.
Let’s see where I have to go for tomorrow.
