Reimagine bike: Rikulau Mondrian with Campagnolo Veloce 10 Speed groupset

The Rikulau Mondrian is a beautiful bike frame finished in a light pearlescent white with a Mondrian composition in prime colours (blue, red and yellow) and black lines. The frame is made from Reynolds 853 steel, which is heat treated and air hardened. It is similar in strength to Titanium alloy and stainless steel. Rikulau has partnered with British Reynolds Steel, Birmingham, for many years and produce some amazing looking steel and Titanium frames. The front forks are carbon fibre made by Easton.
This Rikulau Mondrian is a 54cm or L size frame (check geometry below), built up with a full Campagnolo Veloce 10 speed groupset and Campagnolo Khamsin G3 wheelset. The seat post is Crank Brothers Cobalt 2 with a Selle Italia Turbo saddle. The flight deck is Deda Elementi Newton 44cm,

The Build:
When I saw this frame made by Rikulau I instantly thought that this is the first time I have seen anyone putting well known art to a bike frame and it looked very good. The colour white is not a flat solid colour and is more like a metallic or pearlescent look. The Mondrian composition made me want to continue the prime colours, but when I tried that the blue was not always matching and with both blue and yellow it distracted away from the composition on the frame. So we decided to just stay with the black and red which seems to enhance the composition.
Then I started on the groupset, since Rikulau themselves tends to offer a mixture of branded group components such as Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo. I always like to keep the groupset to be same brand, to ensure compatibility and the look is more consistent. So I decided to do a Campag build, and when looking for the groupset I found a set of wheels from Campag too. So we went for the Campagnolo Khamsin G3, which are very nice on the bike, an upgrade to stock wheels. Coming back to the groupset I settled on the Veloce 10 speed, as it is a very competent groupset and pretty good value to performance too. The silver component flourishes on the bike being the cage bolts, seat clamp and front derailleur braze on clamp gives a strong retro feel. I later changed the saddle to a Selle Italia Turbo Nubuk red saddle, to further add to the modern retro look.
The tubing itself on the frame is relatively thin and not oversized tubing as found in Aluminium or Carbon bikes, further adds to the retro feel. But this is no old tech bike, it is very much a new modern bike made of modern steel.
The build being finished weighs in 8.90kg without pedals. By no means a heavy bike, rather impressive for steel, but that is what modern steel can do these days.
