This might sound common, but after over a decade in an industry that lost its shine to me, I decided to try something new, different. Growing up in a family business has given me the belief that there is a way to do things that people will appreciate. It had to be something I was passionate about and cycling was one of these passions. My parents had instilled in me the passion to work hard, perfect one’s skill, scrutinise all possibilities and enjoy your work.
So in early 2014, eZo cycle was born.
We noticed that there is alot of material out there either in online retailers or YouTube that focuses alot on the high end premium bikes. But actually alot of us need something a little more subtle, with a smaller budget but to still be able to ride a type of dream bike.
We are passionate about cycling, however we are not riding around in super bikes either, we all dream to, but reality means spending the budget of a car on a bike is not really that easy to achieve. But what is achievable is a medium budget bike that can perform close to high performance bicycles, particularly if well maintained. At eZo cycle we intend to build bikes for purpose, with our Reimagined bikes we can do just that. Reimagined bikes is our way of do a form of custom build which is based on a stock frame from a brand and built up to be an alternative to how the brand designed it to be, therefore reimagined to be subtly different to that bike seen online or in shops, a way to be different without having to setting a high budget.
Personally I ride around on a Genesis CdF, baby version of the famous Croix De Fer, made in Reynold 520 steel, it is basic, but it is designed as a cyclocross bicycle, meaning it has wide tyre clearance, flexible over the bumps of the trails and road. It can take front and rear panniers, the gearing is not perfect but I changed the cassette to a slightly wider range to help with climbs and gain higher speed. Overall I didn’t do much to the bike, but to just use it, it goes on charity rides (short and long), I go light shopping with it, do my errands, even deliver post all day sometimes (more on that later), night rides with friends, day rides with family, it basically can do most things I need it for. That, in a nutshell, is what most bikes will have to do, a go to bike that can do most things the cyclist needs and didn’t break the bank.
Our plans are to provide a site for cyclists with latest gear that fulfils form and function. Whether you ride mountain roads, city roads, cross country, night riding or just a leisure rider.
Since early, I have been on industry leading Cytech technical courses (1 and 2) to ensure our bicycle servicing skills are up to date and further enhance my knowledge.
eZo cycle can offer servicing, and bespoke build service we like to call Reimagined bikes.
We will build some ourselves to sell, but we can also work with clients to determine their desires to build something a little special for themselves. All within a reasonable budget.

Any bike service and repairs will of course be restricted to our local and surrounding area of Coventry, UK. We are not national yet, but maybe one day…
